Food was decent. It may just be the type or region of food, but we personally felt the curry-based dishes were too strongly curry-flavored. I'd describe it as being closer to Japanese curry than to Thai curry. That said, the food is worth trying if that sounds good to you.
We ordered takeout from The Bao Bao House tonight, and we are so glad we did! The food is so fresh and flavorful, and the service was great. We ordered the triple delight dumplings, the double shrimp noodles in chicken broth, and the fried rice with beef - all were excellent! We will definitely be regulars!
Tonight when picking up my favorite Curry Beef Fried Bao, I was followed by a man who wouldn’t leave me alone. I quickly walked over to the front of Bao Bao house, and was watching the man carefully to make sure he didn’t do anything. The kind gentleman at Bao was concerned for me, walked out and made sure the guy left. He offered to let me come inside, and asked if he could walk me to my car. He was so kind to offer that for me, and wanted to make sure I was safe. I will continue to support Bao Bao House! Thank you for your kind generosity.
I love this restaurant, one of my favorites in town. It’s hard to get good Chinese dumplings outside of big cities. When I found Bao Bao house it was love at first taste. Savory pork Bao Zi?! Yes please. I buy this to take home for family and they’re always excited. Eugene is lucky to have Bao Bao House. Please be nice everyone, restaurateurs are working harder than ever these days
The Ma Po tofu had such a superfluity of Szechuan peppercorns that it took dedication to eat it. I actually love the numbing effect of these, but in moderation. A heavy hand can make the dish into more of a party trick, like a dare. Other than that, the sauce tasted great. highly recommend, very delicious
