Stopped in this place for the first time today. I enjoy gourmet burgers and wanted something new. I am REALLY glad I stopped by. The place is really clean and spacious. Can't wait until there is indoor dining again. The service was friendly and informative. They grind the meat and make their own hamburger there. And they used locally-sourced beef to do so. The burger was cooked perfectly, and all the toppings were fresh. I was given the option of white or wheat bun. The buns were soft, dense, and fitting of a gourmet burger. I was asked if I'd like something to drink while I waited, and noticed they had a bar. I sipped on one of my favorite whiskeys while waiting. I almost never write reviews, but was impressed by my experience here. I highly recommend anyone who appreciates a good burger to give this place a try. Good people, great food, varied types of burgers to choose from (all of which come with great-tasting fries), and a clean facility that supports other local businesses. Pretty much hits all my marks.
Initially, my partner and I were greeted by a friendly young lady and she informed us that it was her first day back. We were a bit off-put that she was wearing her mask around her chin, but chose to ignore it. After being seated in the area near the kitchen window, we noticed that the cook and other server were also wearing their masks under their chins. The cook was also talking and arranging food with his mask down, and the server was arranging clean silverware and to-go orders with her mask down...this seems extremely unsafe during a pandemic and takes away from the idea that it's safe to eat food prepared by a restaurant staff. Shortly after receiving our wings, we were asked to move to another section of the restaurant so they could close our current table down. We picked up our drinks and headed to a new table. Unfortunately the only table small enough for two people wasn't sanitized (it had a sanitized sign on it) so we had to wait for it to be wiped off. Twenty five minutes after receiving the wings, we received the burger we had ordered but our fried mushrooms were missing. Our burger was ordered medium rare with the onions on the side, but it came out well done with no onions. I am curious how a medium rare burger can take longer than chicken wings when ordered at the same time? I always order my burgers medium rare because I feel like well done burgers are dry and a bit flavorless, and unfortunately that is exactly how our burger tasted. The onion rings that accompanied the burger were saturated in a large amount of grease. As my partner and I are waiting for the server to come back with our mushrooms, we were told by the other server that the restaurant was closing an hour early for maintenance. The server never came back with the mushrooms, so I was unable to tell her that they were missing until I cashed out. When I told her we didn't receive the mushrooms, she asked if she had taken our order personally and I told her she had. This is the same young lady that went into detail about how much she loves ordering the mushrooms with her boyfriend while taking my order. Also, we were one of two tables in the restaurant, so I'm confused how she couldn't remember taking my order. I briefly spoke to Brett and he informed me that the restaurant definitely wasn't closing for maintenance, but were abiding the curfew, however, the announcement about closing early came three hours before the Eugene curfew. I would have appreciated you reaching out, as I thought you might want to know how your staff is representing your business while you aren't there. My partner's family have been restaurant owners for over thirty-five years and I know if something like this had happened at their business, they would want to know. I have attached a photo of our receipt for you in case that helps. Above is the email I sent to a manager after speaking to employees. Its a shame that after contacting the restaurant and giving them a chance to reach out, or correct the issues, they chose to do neither. This is indicative of the owner's (Jared) lack of dedication to safety protocols, customer service, and general respect for customers. We voiced these complaints multiple times before this post to Brett (his name might have been Brent). The only conclusion is that Jared does not care, and are happy to provide patrons with poor service, poor food quality, and a general lack of respect and safety. Dont be fooled by other reviews. Please find somewhere better.
Ordered from here for the 1st time today. A burger with fried mushrooms for take out. Delicious! We'll be back!
The service was good and fast. The fries were very good but the hamburger was bland, and small for what I payed. I'll go back for the fries and the atmosphere when dine in is back open.
In our quest for a dine in burger joint that offers beer and cocktails we chose Northwest Burgers. It was our second visit and we will be happy to return again. The food was hot and fresh the seating was spaced nicely with outdoor seating available. The space is very open and welcoming and the tables and chairs were nice. We had Burgers and fries served with house ketchup and we really enjoyed them. Winner winner Buger dinner!
