We ordered 5 things and all were awesome!!! Really was surprised at how good everything was. Pad Thai had these thin noodles unlike most pad Thai. Great change, plenty of crushed peanuts. Very large portion too! Incredible value this place! The attendant was great, think it was a manager woman who was very helpful.
Good food but absolutely the worst experience after we were sitting at the table on a Sunday night for one hour and 14 minutes and a table of three older adults orders one more round of drinks for a total of two rounds and the waiter tells us that we have exceeded our table time and need to close our bill and leave. It was absolutely rude and unprofessional. There was no one at the door many tables were open and it was 745 at night again on a Sunday. Some other young girl came over and tried to explain herself at this point the table was already embarrassed and really upset at the experience. We can totally understand if it was a busy night with people standing and no tables open we are not inconsiderate people. It was so poorly executed and disrespectful to our family that we will absolutely never return and tell everyone what happened to us and warn them that these people want you to throw down your food and leave!
Sabai is arguably the best restaurant in Eugene for a reason. The food is simply fantastic. This may even be the best Thai restaurant in Oregon, especially if you like a bit more of a fusion style. I can't get enough of those tempura green beans. The cocktail program is one of the best in town as well.
You can make reservation. Having had Thai food all these years, this is one of the best. It's not necessary the Thai food you have in Thailand, there's a little fusion twist but you can see the authentic ingredients and the taste is much improved for general public. Sabai Noodle - it's like a pad Thai but stir fry. Very tasty and flavorful. Tom Kha Soup - I recommend mild so you can taste the rich coconut flavorful and the spiciness of the soup. It was well mixed of hot and sour. White Angel on Fire - They have done an amazing job in the battered and came out deliciously crispy with a very intense sweet and spicy sauce. Satisfied! Yellow Curry - we ordered mild again, it's coconut dominated curry. If you like coconut flavor you don't disappoint. You can taste the curry spice in it but it's very different compared to green or red curry. Green and red curry or even panang curry taste more like Thai curry. Wish we have one of these in my neighborhood in Bay area California.
Hands down my favorite place to eat in the area. This is the BEST Thai food in Eugene. I stay at the Valley River Inn all the time and I love stopping by Sabai to pick up dinner on almost every single trip. Great food and when there is a wait, it is never too long and ALWAYS worth it.
