I visited Eugene on Christmas. A Taste of India was one of the few restaurants open in Eugene on Christmas Day. You can watch them preparing the food. Their work together is smooth and efficient. The pride they take in providing delicious authentic dishes for their diners is obvious. They were under pressure from DoorDash being unable to assign realistic pickup times to their drivers, yet they performed like an orchestra to produce a symphony of culinary delights very quickly. Simply the best. I was proud to serve their food at my feast.
Edit-- I forgot I already reviewed this place, but I decided to review it "again" because it has only gotten better. Our last Carry out meal was delicious all around. The lamb vindaloo especially was phenomenal. They also make the best channa masala I've ever had. Love this place. 5 stars again! The other reviews don't lie--this place is excellent! The man working in front was so nice, and the lunch buffet options, which weren't even my usual favorite entrees, were so delicious! I can't wait to eat here again!
I’ve had Taste of India 4 times now and have always gotten the Lamb Tikka Masala - hot + their Garlic Naan. The food is delicious and incredibly authentic. Today I asked for even more spice in the sauce because my tolerance is much higher than for most people and it is PERFECT. If you aren’t sweating, it’s not hot enough! The family that runs the business is always so nice when I walk into pick up the food and the restaurant is clean. As long as I live in Eugene I’ll ALWAYS order from here.
Hands down the best Indian food I have had in the north west. I'd dare to say that it's perhaps the best Indian food I have had west of the Atlantic, barring the Michelin star chef in NYC.
I’ve never been dissatisfied with this place. You can tell the Saag is fresh and the spices just right. Their naans and kulchas are crisp and chewy. They don’t use frozen vegetables that I have come across and their service is fast, friendly and fair. Edit: Found they use a frozen Chinese vegetable medley in their vegetarian dishes. Not fresh or appetizing sadly. Their sauces are so good, but this brings down the quality of the whole dish.
